Shelter
We provide accommodation for the most vulnerable children
We recognise that many of our children and young adults are struggling to find anywhere to live on a permanent basis. Many have either no family or serious issues with what family they do have including physical, mental, and sexual abuse. These children really do have nowhere to go and no one to turn to.
Consistent with our policy on Safeguarding, FPZ rent two modest houses in Bwacha compound – one for boys and one for girls, which are intended for half a dozen youngsters in each, as the need arises. The principles, procedures and practices of the Shelter Provision is covered by a further, joint policy statement between FPZ and the Kabwe governors (Family Care and Orphans Board).
There is a rota so that everyone takes their turn to clean and cook.
